Gaspar's Best CoEnzyme Q10

Though you can get it from your diet, the way your body synthesizes adequate amounts of CoQ10 is a complex process. Supplementation helps with absorption. If you’re taking a statin or beta blocker, our pharmacists recommend taking CoQ10 as those drugs deplete this vital nutrient. It can particularly help mitigate medication side effects such as muscle aches, weakness, and fatigue.

CoEnzyme Q10 is critical for nearly every cell in your body to function properly in terms of energy for cell growth and maintenance. It also protects the body from damage from harmful molecules. CoEnzyme Q10 is found naturally in a healthy diet that consists of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients. This supplement will help improve your overall energy and the health of every cell. This CoQ10 supplement includes rice bran oil and vitamin E to enhance absorption.

Though you can get it from your diet, the way your body synthesizes adequate amounts of CoQ10 is a complex process, involving 15 steps and other enzymes and vitamin/mineral cofactors. Additionally, statin medications for cholesterol and beta blockers for high blood pressure inhibit the absorption of these key nutrients in your diet that are required to naturally synthesize COQ10. If you are on one of these medications, your ability to absorb this nutrient is limited. Supplementing your diet with a direct intake of CoQ10 in a more absorbable form will help your body get enough of the coenzyme. Particularly, it may help mitigate side effects you may experience from taking those meds, such as muscle pain, weakness, or fatigue.

I started taking this based on a pharmacist recommendation in store. Apparently some medicine you take can also block nutrients in your stomach. They recommended with my Rx. It’s a bit soon to say for sure, but will update my review soon.

      Hi Rose!

Great to see you again and thanks for posting the review! Yes, this is known as “drug induced nutrient depletion”. Please call us if you have any additional questions. Thanks again!

I have been on a statin cholesterol med for many years. Unfortunately, because my blood work came back with some concerning increases, the doctor doubled my dose of Crestor. At that point, I began experiencing some painful cramping in my legs. After seeking some advice from the pharmacist, I started Gaspars CoQ-10. I found out that all statins deplete your body of this important and necessary enzyme. As a result I was experiencing this painful cramping side effect and possibly even other negative effects from depleted CoQ10 that were going on but were too subtle for me to notice. Now I take this every day with my Crestor!

I have been taking CoQ10 with my cholesterol medication every day for the past year and it works very well! I am no longer feeling the muscle pain that I was experiencing prior to taking CoQ10. This is a great product and I will continue to use it.
