Protein Shakes Can Be More Than Protein
When you think of protein shakes, you may think of some pumped up dude at the gym screaming unnecessarily. Side note, don’t be that guy. But protein shakes can be so much more than a source of protein after a workout. In fact, protein shakes can be a complete, balanced meal. Sometimes a “liquid meal” like this, if done correctly, can be easier on your digestive system, too.
Don’t believe me? Check out the video below for more information!
The Details From The Video
Like I mentioned in the video, there are a few different ways to put together a great protein shake. Here’s a great infographic from Precision Nutrition about making Super Shakes: http://www.precisionnutrition.com/super-shake-creation-infographic

Like all of our Gaspar’s Best products, these are independently tested by a third party for quality. There’s a lot of B.S. out there when it comes to supplements. We want to change that.
My Protein Shake Recipes
Ok, so I said I’d share a few of my own recipes. Feel free to adjust and mess with the proportions as you see fit!
Pre-Workout High Calorie Shake
- 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk (or Ripple, which I’ve been into recently)
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 scoop of Gaspar’s Best Perfect Protein Powder
- 1/2 handful of spinach (it’s kinda hard to measure spinach lol)
- 5 fresh strawberries
- About 10 or so fresh blueberries
- 2 tablespoons of organic hemp seeds
- 2 tablespoons of organic flax seeds
Like I said, you can sub plenty of things in here. It’s a pretty high calorie shake, so it’s great fuel.
A Meal Replacement Shake
- 1 cup of Ripple
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 scoop of Gaspar’s Best Fruits and Greens Energy Drink
- 5 fresh strawberries
- 3 tablespoons of organic hemp seeds
I use the Ripple and hemp seeds to boost the protein content.
